| Grandpop has always been an angel from above. Up until recently, he had dedicated his life to his church, family, scouting, the St Vincent de Paul Society, the St. Rose Seniors, Meals on Wheels and faithfully assisting friends in need. He has always had a special place in his heart for his four legged furry friends. During World War II, he served our great country as a Sergeant in the United States Army, in Europe. His duties included Sergeant in Battery B, 808th Field Artillery, Chief of Searchlight Battalion, Commander of 90MM Anti-Aircraft Gun and 155MM Howitzer in the European Theater. **UPDATE April 5, 2007** Unfortunately, Grandpop has taken another downward turn starting around Thanksgiving/Christmas 2006. This time around, though, he hasn't leveled out. In the last few weeks his decline has become rapid. Please keep him in your prayers so that he remains as comfortable and peaceful as possible during this time. Please also keep us in your prayers, as well. **Tuesday, April 10, 2007** At 5:50am this morning Grandpop passed peacefully in his sleep. Words can never begin to touch what a wonderful man he was to all of us and the profound impact he has had on so many lives!!! He is now in heaven with God and will always shine down upon our hearts. |
